The chair is concerned with the design and application of intelligent, environment-perceiving systems and their embodiment through integrated, adaptive electronics and sensors, in particular using inspiration from biological models. A particular focus is on the automation of the design process of such systems. In teaching, the fundamentals of electronics and measurement and sensor technology are represented in the curriculum. In advanced courses, the design of integrated analog and mixed-signal circuits and integrated sensor systems as well as sensor signal processing, design of intelligent systems with machine learning and neurocomputing.
