Design and Implementation of a Home Security System with Video Surveillance

Assignment:

Goal of this work is to develop and implement a cost-effective video surveillance system for homes and buildings. In addition to motion detection, standardized interfaces such as MQTT or Matter are to be integrated to trigger further actions. The system is to be implemented on the basis of an ESP32 microcontroller.

Background:

Video surveillance systems are nowadays widely used in home and building technology. Proprietary systems offer many functions at reasonable prices, but are usually difficult to combine with components from other manufacturers. Open standards and standardized functions avoid manufacturer dependencies and offer long-term opportunities for expanding and maintaining such systems.
