As part of the Kleinheubacher Conference 2017, 15 Young Scientists Awards and 3 Young Scientists Best Paper Awards were awarded to young researchers for their outstanding contributions.

The selection of the winners of the Young Scientist Award (YSA) took place after an assessment on the basis of the submitted works. In addition to originality and creativity, the form and clarity of the submitted works were assessed.

A YSA is associated with a certificate and a prize money of 300 €. In the final round all winners of a YSA had the possibility to give a lecture as part of the normal conference program and were invited to present their work in a special YSA poster session. After a review and evaluation by a selection committee the best three works received a Young Scientist Best Paper Award endowed with € 1000 (1st place), € 750 (2nd place) and € 500 (3rd place).

We congratulate Stefan Weithoffer for this outstanding achievement!
