System Level Integration and Exploration of PIM DRAM

Assignment:

The goal of this work is to integrate Samsung’s “FIMDRAM” into our DRAM simulator DRAMSys coupled with gem5. This includes the implementation of special PIM modes on the DRAM side and custom instructions on the processor side to control the processing operations. After successful integration, the full system should be benchmarked to analyze the achievable performance improvement for different applications.
