Operating Systems WS 23/24
General Course Information:
An operating system is software, which allows the operation of a computer. It provides the use of hardware to application software without detailed interaction with hardware. The course gives an introduction into basic concepts and services of operating systems. Topics include processes and threads, synchronization and mutual exclusion, deadlock, scheduling.

Lectures
When:
- The first lecture session will take place on the 25th of October
- Lecture sessions will take place on Wednesdays from 10:00 to 11:30

When:
- Exercise sessions will often take place on Wednesdays from 11:45 to 12:30.
- The exact appointments for exercise sessions will be announced in the first lecture. There will be no exercise session on 25th October.
